PISA project

The prime objective of the PISA project is to establish a new generation of modular flexible assembly methodology by developing concepts, formal methods, standards, and safety frameworks tools and underlining technologies to allow integration and cooperation between human workers and highly flexible devices and equipment in a qualitatively new and efficient manner. Therefore the aims of PISA are:

  • The development of a prototypical intelligent assist system (IAS) based on use-cases.
  • The introduction of novel IAS technology in order to fill the gap between manual and automated assembly.
  • Provide planning and integration tools in order to make this new technology applicable.
  • The re-configurability of assembly systems and the reusability of assembly equipment.

In order to reach those aims, the project is divided in nine interrelated sub-projects (SP):
